JC Ministries

JC Ministries is a non-profit agency working with recovery-related programs throughout the Gulf Coast. We are here to offer help and guidance to the women of the Greater New Orleans area struggling with issues related to substance abuse. Our transitional home for women, located between two of the failed canals, suffered flood damage during Hurricane Katrina. Would you please consider making a contribution towards our rebuilding? Your donation is tax-deductible.

Hurricane Katrina left toxic conditions behind in our Gentilly neighborhood. The air has a heavy chemical odor, and surfaces covered with residue actually burn your skin! The city was just starting to open up neighborhoods according to zip codes (and water residing) when Hurricane Rita forced yet another evacuation. It has been over 30 days since we fled our Transitional home the day before Katrina hit.

    Dianne,

It has been a week since I have spoken with you about the house situation in New Orleans. Since then, Rita has come and gone. Do you have any updated information yet on whether or not the transitional home is going to be salvaged? And what about the other rental homes? How many of them need repair work? Greetings in Jesus' name.
